Memorial Day Weekend 2010 We went up to Cayucos, a little beach town between Moro Bay & Cambria. The Australian Shepherd Club was holding agility trials at the Windsong Ranch just outside of town.
We stayed at the Cayucos Beach Inn. Dog friendly! Little grassy area in the back with a fire plug, a dog bath and poop bag dispensers. The whole town was dog friendly and full of people with dogs. Not just for the trials either. I saw lots of other people & families with their dogs.

Before you run your dog, you walk the course to plan how to direct your dog. So everyone is walking around pointing as if the dog was there.

The courses are changed after every round. My plan was to get Chili used to dogs and people around and to try to complete at least one full course. I have been spending a lot of time working with her at home and it paid off. We were able to qualify (Q) in four rounds. We even got a 1st and a 2nd in two of them. |
