Chili's New Wheels
1985 Guzzi California II
with a Watsonian Palma Classic sidecar

Well, a little dog just can't be expected to jump up on the back of a motorcycle and hold on... but all dogs know the benefits of the wind in your face. So, what to do? Hey! How about a sidecar. Low enough to get into and out of, nice cushy seat for those long rides, windshield to make napping easier; why not?.

This rig is on its way from Missouri

This sidecar rig is on its way (7/26/10) from Missouri. It is a 1985 Moto Guzzi California II. 1000 cc with 38K miles on it. The previous owner put the sidecar on the bike so he could take his kids along.

It will be interesting to see how Chili takes to it. I'm not too sure how I am going to take to it. Driving a sidecar rig is nothing like riding a motorcycle and its all new to me.

My old Eldorado with an American Spirit Eagle Sidecar

After buying another Cal II to replace the one I couldn't register I found this sidecar and decided to mount it on my original 74 Eldorado. It is much sportier than the Watsonian and is period correct for this bike.
The lighter rig is a little spooky on corners but with about 80 pounds of lead ballast, some tools and an ice chest she handles pretty well.
Being more open Chili has to get used to wearing goggles and for now I have her on a short leash even though she doesn't try to get out.
